Lascaux IV
A quick half-hour drive from La Vue d’Or finds you at the historic site of Lascaux IV, or the International Centre of Cave Art of Montignac-Lascaux. Here you can learn about the 1940 discovery of Cro Magnon art in the Lascaux caves in the Vézère Valley. The painstaking recreation of this astonishing piece of history is well worth the visit.

Castelnaud
Castelnaud is a medieval fortress just an eight-minute drive from La Roque-Gageac. Here you can tour the museum’s collection of authentic weapons and armour and outside you can enjoy spectacular views of the Dordogne (see if you can spot La Vue d’Or!). Children under 10 visit free!
